OMLA News
OMLA, with the support of NMBA and PMI, are partnering as an Association and supporting Portland's Habitat for Humanity as they build 16 single-family units in the Lents Neighborhood later this summer.
Habitat will be conducting the "Lambert Community Kickoff" on Wednesday, June 15th, on-site at 8309 SE Lambert. We encourage OMLA members to attend this wonderful event.
Later this summer, OMLA members will have the opportunity to volunteer in the building of these quality homes which will be provided to low-income families in need of stable, affordable housing. Those dates will be shared as soon as the schedules are finalized.
In addition to the individual work party days, OMLA has partnered with State Farm and Washington Mutual and will participate in the Financial Services Roundtables "Community Build Day" on Saturday, August 13th. That event will be held at the same location listed above. The Financial Services Roundtable (FSR) is a national advocacy network and will provide an opportunity for national and local elected officials and policymakers to take note of the financial services industry's contributions to the communities in which they work. This event will provide additional opportunities for OMLA members
to participate in this Habitat project.
Over the course of the upcoming weeks, the Fair Lending Committee members will be promoting this summer's events by conducting raffles to raise additional funds for the Habitat project.
OMLA members are encouraged to participate and if they would like to assist in this project, they can make a direct contribution by visiting http://www.pdxhabitat.org/current/current.php.
